Purple Moon Child Development and Child Care, Inc. strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment while offering a developmentally appropriate program designed to enhance each child's self-esteem, sense of competence and a positive approach towards learning and education. Purple Moon recognizes each child's need to grow and develop at his/her own pace in an atmosphere promoting respect, self-esteem, self-awareness and creative development. We believe children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. Learning materials and activities provided by Purple Moon staff are concrete, real and relevant to children's lives.

Our program is based on the premise that children learn about the world through their social interactions. Children are encouraged to make their own decisions when interacting in various situations. By doing so, the children learn responsibility and consequence. Suggestions will be offered when appropriate, to assist the children with the development of their social skills.

Children also flourish in an atmosphere that encourages freedom within boundaries. Limits provide the child with security when they are defined, understood and consistently enforced. We believe a multi-cultural and anti-bias curriculum will enrich the lives of all children by encouraging acceptance and appreciation of our similarities and differences.

We work in partnership with our community and parents, communicating regularly to ensure successful fulfillment of the program and individual goals. We value parent participation, realizing both their involvement and evaluation are essential to a quality program. We believe diversity is the foundation of a well-rounded individual.
